Marcus Collins inspired by one direction

Last year's X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins has revealed exclusively toMTV.co.uk that he's "inspired" by One Direction's worldwide success.
Collins, who is gearing up to release his second single Mercy on 3rd June, claims that he hopes to follow by 1D's example - especially as they've proved you can go on to bigger and better things, despite not winning the talent show.
Speaking of what he makes ofHarry Styles and Co's achievements, Marcus claimed: "It really does inspire me. The fact that they came from the show and they didn’t win and have still been as successful as they are is incredible. It’s really nice."
The 24-year old also went on to praise mentor Gary Barlow, stating that he's still in touch with the Take That frontman, explaining that Gary is keen to continuehelping him out with his post-XF career.
When asked if he will be jealous not to be hanging out with Mr. Barlow this year, Marcus claimed: "No, I don’t think I will be jealous, I’ll probably be on the phone asking him what they’re like. I’m gonna be supporting whoever he gets in his category all the way.
"I will still be working with him and something that Gary had written into his contract was that after putting all the work in with us and helping us out on the show, he really wanted to work with the people after the competition and help with artist development."
Collins added: "I think that is something he would really like to go into. He’s always there on the phone if I need him for anything."
